The holiday season in Sewickley is upon us soon, so I’ve gathered some events that will have you (and your family) feeling festive this upcoming month! As your local real-estate partner, I want you not only to find a home, but to feel at home, in a place full of community and festive moments. Below is my personal “December in Sewickley” bucket-list of local events and traditions you won’t want to miss. Bookmark it, share it, and come join me in all the holiday fun!
Attend Light Up Night in Sewickley
Kick off December with magic: the annual Sewickley Light Up Night lights up Beaver Street on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5–9 p.m. Expect horse-drawn carriage rides, live performances, ice-sculpting, Santa in the gazebo at Wolcott Park, and fireworks at 8 p.m.
Quick tip: Arrive early, park just outside the Village if you can (to avoid congestion), and bundle up…there’s plenty of outdoor fun!
Cheer at the Santa Parade
On Saturday, December 6, 2025 (9:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.), the charming Sewickley Santa Parade marches through town. Bring the kids, snag a spot along Beaver or Broad Street, and don’t forget to wave to Saint Nick as he arrives. A festive, family-friendly tradition.
Catch a Holiday Movie at The Lindsay Theater
I love this one for a cozy date night! The Lindsay Theater & Cultural Center (418 Walnut St., Sewickley) is screening holiday classic films like It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Grab a hot drink, settle in, and let the lights twinkle while you enjoy some nostalgia.
Sip Something Festive at the Sewickley Sleigh Pop-Up
If you’re looking for a little “grown-up” fun, the seasonal winter bar experience Sewickley Sleigh at the Sewickley Quarter courtyard is back. Named one of the Top 5 Pittsburgh-Suburbs Winter Pop-Up Bars for the season. Opening night was Wednesday, November 26 at 5 p.m. and hours continue Wednesdays–Saturdays.
Heads-up: Great for a festive meetup with friends. Dress warm—there’s an outdoor element where you can grab some holiday selfies!
Festive Crafts + Storytime at the Sewickley Library
For the little ones (or little hearts) in your life, the Sewickley Public Library is offering seasonal storytimes and craft-based programs in December. Drop in for jammies & stories or hands-on crafts. It’s always free with your library card!
Shop Local for Holiday Gifts in the Village
The Village is full of charming boutiques, artisan gifts, specialty food shops and one-of-a-kind finds. This is a perfect time to support local businesses and find that meaningful gift for everyone on your list. When you’re out for Light Up Night or the parade, take a stroll through the shops.
Give Back: Donate to a Local Toy or Winter Clothing Drive
Nothing captures the spirit of the season like giving back. Many local nonprofits, churches and community groups are hosting toy drives, winter-coat collections, or food drives in December. (Tip: check with the Sewickley Valley area organizations to see where to drop off).
If you find yourself falling in love with Sewickley’s holiday spirit and want to plant deeper roots here, let’s chat. I’m always here to help neighbors, friends, and future homeowners find the right place to call home.
